Buddhism will be the fourth sub-part of my Category “SPIRITUALITY & RELIGION”. To my valuable readers, I would like to give you a brief overview of Buddhism, and what I will explore further at present and in the future under the sub-part Buddhism of “SPIRITUALITY & RELIGION” Category.
Definition of BUDDHISM
Buddhism is described as a religion which is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent – a place with a wide variety of beliefs, traditions and practices. This religion has been largely based on the teaching of Siddhartha Gautama, who lived since 25 centuries ago, and came to be named Buddha that signifies “the awakened one” after he experienced the influential and deep realization of the nature of life, existence and death. his life path, the Buddha had a tendency to travel and teach. Nevertheless, he did not teach people when he became enlightened and what he realized. Instead, he was apt to teach them how to recognize enlightenment for themselves. According the Buddha’s opinion, awakening comes through a person’s own direct experience, not through dogmas and beliefs. While Buddhism has remained most common within Asia and India, the two major branches of Buddhism (including Theravada and Mahayana) are found throughout the world these days. Moreover, Buddhism is also considered as one of the fastest developing religions worldwide.
